Duke's Wolf And Maryland's Farrell Earn ACC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors Presented By Chevrolet
Farrell had a tremendous two-game stretch for the Terrapins last week as well. The senior from Towson, Md., started things off by assisting on teammate Grant Catalino's first goal in the 15-6 rout of in-state rival UMBC. Farrell also led all Maryland field players with four groundballs vs. the Retrievers in addition to causing two turnovers. He followed that performance by setting a career-high with three points against St. Joseph's on two goals and an assist. Farrell scored his first goal just eight seconds after Maryland took a 1-0 lead. Farrell assisted on a teammate Curtis Holmes' goal following another face-off in the second quarter. In addition, he had a terrific bounce shot from 12 yards out off the face-off following Holmes' goal. Farrell was also solid defensively with two groundballs and two caused turnovers against the visiting St. Joseph's squad. Farrell also played a key role on the Terps' man-down unit, which held UMBC and St. Joe's scoreless in a combined six extra-man opportunities.
